Sultan RAEV
Mr. Sultan Raev has been unanimously elected as Secretary General of TURKSOY at the Extraordinary Meeting of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY held on March 31st, 2022.
Mr. Raev who graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Kyrgyz State University in 1984 and has worked as Chief Editor of various newspapers, Deputy Minister of Education and Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chairman of the UNESCO National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic has also assumed major functions such as that of Advisor to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic as well as of Minister of Culture and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Prior to his election as Secretary General of TURKSOY, Mr. Sultan Raev has served as Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States.
As one of the most notable authors of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Sultan Raev whose fame reached out beyond the borders of the Turkic World, has not only assumed major positions as an official and statesman of his country but also pursued his activities in the field of art and wrote many works which have been performed in theaters of various countries and broadcasted as films on television and cinemas.
Throughout his carreer, Mr. Sultan Raev who also holds the title of People’s Author of the Kyrgyz Republic has received various awards from many countries and international organizations in recognition of his precious contribution to the rapprochement of cultures and international relations.
