Visit of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev to the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Washington H. E. Mr. Yerzhan Ashikbayev

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev paid a visit to the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Washington H. E. Mr. Yerzhan Ashikbayev.

Issues discussed in the meeting pertained to steps to be taken in order to increase the visibility of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic World in the United States of America. 

Secretary General Sultan Raev gave detailed information on  projects carried out by TURKSOY and the preparations for events to be carried out in the city of Aktau, which was declared the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2025. In addition to this, the upcoming Nowruz celebrations and preparations for the 180th anniversary of the birthday of the great Kazakh poet Abay Kunanbay were also discussed.
 

Ambassador Yerzhan Ashikbayev expressed his great appreciation as to TURKSOY's efforts to promote the cultural richness of the Turkic World on international platforms. Emphasising that such activities play a key role in increasing the visibility of Turkic culture in the United States of America, Ambassador Ashikbayev stated that Kazakhstan will further provide its strong support to TURKSOY's projects. Ambassador Yerzhan Ashikbayev also expressed his appreciation as to  the readiness of TURKSOY to cooperate with various universities and professional organisations across the United States of America to provide support for the expansion of the impact of its activities.

While the visit created an important momentum in terms of the promotion of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic World to introduce it to wider audiences, it also contributed to the strengthening of the cooperation between the two sides.
