TURKSOY Secretary General visited the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan

Within the framework of his working visit to Azerbaijan, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev visited the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan.

In the meeting held at the Authors'' Union of Azerbaijan, Secretary General Raev met with the President of the Union Anar Rzayev as well as with members of the Union and discussed the event planned to be held in Turkey on March 6th, 2023 in order to gather  literary figures of the Turkic World. Secretary General Raev also took note of  the views expressed regarding  the establishment of the  Authors' Union of TURKSOY.

During the meeting, it was noted that the Secretary of International Relations Selim Babullaoğlu, representing the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan, will attend the event, which will bring together important literary figures of the Turkic World and accelerate the rapprochement in the field of literature in the Turkic geography.

Other issues discussed in  the meeting concerned the applications made in Azerbaijan to participate in the international poetry contest on the  "Anthem of TURKSOY" which will be dedicated to the 30th anniversary of its establishment  as well as  the status reached so far in that respect.

While participants of the meeting also stressed the long-standing fruitful cooperation between TURKSOY and the Authors' Union of Azerbaijan, Secretary General  Raev thanked the AUA for its contribution to the international competition of  poetry translation dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birthday of the famous Hungarian poet Sándor Petőfi.
