TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev paid a visit to Mrs. Aida Kasymalieva, the Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the UN
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev held a meeting with the Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the UN Aida Kasymalieva at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission in New York.
During the visit organised within the framework of diplomatic contacts aimed at promoting the cultural heritage of the Turkic World on an international level and developing cooperation opportunities at the UN, important issues were discussed.
In his meeting with Mrs. Aida Kasymalieva, SecretaryGeneral Raev discussed Kyrgyzstan's diplomatic efforts to become a member of the United Nations Security Council in 2026 and drew attention to Kasymalieva's strategic role in this process, stating that these efforts to foster Kyrgyzstan's reputation in the international arena are of great importance and are very important for the Turkic World.
In addition, plans for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Chingiz Aitmatov, which will be celebrated in 2028, were also discussed during the meeting. Secretary General Raev noted that TURKSOY plans to declare this important year as the ‘Year of Aitmatov’ and stressed the importance of the promotion of universal ideas of the author on a global scale for the Turkic World.
Secretary General Raev noted the influential role and high reputation of Ambassador Aida Kasymalieva on the UN platform and expressed his pride in the achievements of Kyrgyz women in the international arena.
Following the meeting, the delegation of TURKSOY headed by its Secretary General inspected the events planned to be held at the United Nations Headquarters
