TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev on a visit to Trabzon

Within the framework of his visit to the Black Sea region of Türkiye Secretary General Raev met with officials in Trabzon.

Secretary General Raev first met with the  Governor of Trabzon Mr. Aziz Yıldırım in his office and was informed about  cultural activities carried out and planned to be carried out in Trabzon. During the meeting, which took place in a warm atmosphere, both parties discussed joint activities which could be carried out in cooperation  of TURKSOY with the Governorate of Trabzon. Secretary General Raev who stressed  that the importance of the meeting increased due to Governor Yıldırım's determined stance on the cultural development and international promotion of the city further said: ‘Trabzon is one of the distinguished cities of the Turkic World. We have reached a consensus with the Governor on the promotion of this important city, where forests coexist with the sea and  beautiful historical sites. We will introduce this city to the world through various many international events  carried out  on international platforms in Trabzon. TURKSOY  will do its part in this regard with strong determination. The vision of the Governor on the cultural development and international promotion of the city once again emphasised the importance of the visit."  

Secretary General Raev then met with the Mayor of the  Metropolitan Municipality of Trabzon Mr. Ahmet Metin Genç who informed him about cultural activities and projects carried out in the city. Secretary General Raev expressed his gratitude to Ahmet Metin Genç for welcoming and hosting the  delegation  of TURKSOY with heartfelt hospitality and agreed upon mutual cooperation with Mayor Genç on activities to be organised by TURKSOY in Trabzon.

In his meeting with the Rector of the Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, Mr. Raev was informed about  cultural activities and academic studies of the university and announced the good news that TURKSOY will provide its full support to the Forum of Architects of the  Turkic World planned to be hosted by the KTU in 2025.  Secretary General Raev exchanged views with Rector Çuvalcı on the cultural and academic opportunities offered by the university to young people and expressed his satisfaction with the goodwill agreement met with the Rector regarding the strengthening of the cooperation between TURKSOY and the KTU.

In the afternoon, Mr.  Raev who met with Prof. Dr. Emin Aşık Kutlu, the Rector of the Trabzon University  was informed about  cultural and academic activities of the University and expressed his gratitude to  Rector Kutlu, underlining that the will necessary for closer cooperation between Trabzon University and TURKSOY in the future has been strongly provided.

At the end of the visit, Secretary General Raev thanked the people of Trabzon as well as local officials for their hospitality and expressed his appreciation as to the fact  that TURKSOY will play an active role in the promotion of the cultural heritage and   beautiful nature  of Trabzon in different regions of the globe and more particularly in the Turkic World.
