TURKSOY Secretary General Raev met with Permanent Representatives of the Turkic World to UNESCO
Within the framework of his visit to Paris, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev met with the Permanent Representatives of TURKSOY member countries to UNESCO.
The meeting was held at the residence of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Turkey to UNESCO hosted by Ambassador Prof. Dr. Gülnür Aybet on 08 March 2023. Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to UNESCO Ambassador Elman Abdullayev, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to UNESCO and Ambassador to France Sadyk Sher-Niyaz, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to UNESCO Ambassador Maksat Chariev, Deputy Chief of Mission of Uzbekistan to UNESCO Farkhod Fayzillaev, Undersecretary of the Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan to UNESCO Rysbek Alibekov attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Secretary General Sultan Raev stated that the main objective of TURKSOY, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, is to preserve and develop the common material and cultural values of the Turkic peoples and that they have been working devotedly for these objectives for 30 years.
Noting that on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY a series of events will be organised in all member states, UN Headquarters, UNESCO Headquarters, Europe and the Balkans, Sultan Raev presented the draft programme of the planned events to the permanent representatives of the member states.
Secretary General Raev and Permanent Representatives of Turkic States to UNESCO discussed the ongoing cooperation of TURKSOY member countries with France and the cooperation between TURKSOY and UNESCO in various fields. During the meeting it was also decided to establish a working group under the auspices of the Ambassadors for the full and complete coordination of the 30th anniversary celebration activities of TURKSOY.
