The 7th Great Hun-Turkic Congress began in the town of Bugac in Hungary
While the 7th edition of the congress featured a team of 100 artists from Bursa, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2022 for the first time this year, artists from founding member countries of TURKSOY as well as soloists from its member countries subject to the Russian Federation with an observer status also took part in the colourful event.
The event which took place on a wide area with more than two hundred tents and featured 1000 mounted horses was inaugurated by the President of the Hungarian Turan Foundation Andraş Biro, the President of the Hungarian Parliament László Kövér and the Chairman of the Wisemen's Council of the Organization of Turkic States Mr. Binali Yıldırım. The opening ceremony gathered TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev, the Deputy President of the National Assembly of Hungary Sandor Lezsak, the Minister of Culture Information Sports and Youth Policies of the Kyrgyz Republic Azamat Jamankulov, the Deputy Minister of Sports' Development of Uzbekistan Avazjon Kerimov, the Secretary General of TURKPA Mehmet Süreyya Er, the President of the International Turkic Academy Prof. Dr. Darhan Kıdırali, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Bursa Alinur Aktaş and the Deputy President of the Yunus Emre Institute Abdullah Kutalmış Yalçın along with representatives of various institutions and organizations.
In the statement he issued to the press, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev said that since its establishment, TURKSOY has carried out many major cultural and artistic events in cooperation with Turkic countries which have been kindred countries of one another ever since their existence and added that it will carry on transmitting the strength and power it draws on our common history to future generations. In his statement, Mr. Raev further said: “On this New Day, we are together with our kindred peoples here in Hungary to enter history with a new revival and rejoice with brand new hopes. In this respect, I should honestly say that we have always had very strong historical and cultural ties with our kindred people of Hungary. Indeed, these ties could be compared to a seqamore tree with roots reaching back to the past and branches reaching out to the bright horizon of the future and these ties will continue to exist."
The congress which was organized with the support of TURKSOY amongst others and featured the flag of each participating country lasted two days and welcomed more than 300 participants.
Throughout these two days, the congress featured events such as the “Archeological Exhibition of the Ancestors' Tent”, “Atilla's Tent", “The Procession of the Avar Hungarian Armoured Mounted Troops", “Garments of Hungarian Viziers”, “The Hungarian Army”, “Competitions of Migrant Horsemen and Archers”, “Duellos of Infantry and Armoured Troops”, “Mounted War Shows of the Best", “Handcrafts and Visit of the Marketplace" , “Folk Music and Folk Dances with their Archaic Version and Modern Interpretations”, “Commemoration of Ancestors and Fire Ritual".
