Secretary General Raev met with the Director General of ICESCO, Dr. Salim M. Almalik

Within the framework of his visit to Baku to attend the  Sixth World Forum for Intercultural Dialogue Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev came together with the Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) Dr. Salim M. Almalik on May 2nd, 2024.

In  the meeting, Secretary General Raev and Director General Almalik exchanged views to further expand the high-level cooperation between TURKSOY and ICESCO. Secretary General Raev gave detailed information on the city of Anev, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2024 as well as on the Year of  Magtumguly Pyragy declared by TURKSOY to commemorate the 300th anniversary of his birthday in its member countries.

In this context, both parties who discussed activities to be carried out to pay tribute to the memory of Magtumguly Pyragy who is one of the key figures of the  Turkic-Islamic world with various event held at the highest level in major cultural and educational venues of both the Turkic World and the Islamic World.

At the end of the meeting, Secretary General Raev handed over a souvenir plate of TURKSOY dedicated to Anev, the  Cultural Capital of the  Turkic World  2024.
