First Session of the Seminar Programme on Kyrgyzstan Studies held at TURKSOY Headquarters

Upon  initiative of the   Students' Union of Kyrgyzstan in Ankara, the first session of the Seminar Programme on Kyrgyzstan Studies  was held at  TURKSOY Headquarters on February 18th, 2025. The event which took place in the presence of Mr. Ulan Maksatov, the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ankara gathered  students of the Turkic World along with  many guests.
 

Speaking at the seminar, TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Sayit Yusuf emphasised the importance of education in the Turkic World and touched upon the role of young people in this field. The speaker of the first session, Turkologist Mr. Sabırbek Börübay, Chief of Staff of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, made a presentation entitled ‘Kassym Tynystan Uulu: An Intellectual of  Turkestan’. In his paper presentation, Mr. Börübay made an in-depth analysis of  academic and literary works of Kassym Tynystan Uulu and drew attention to his contribution to the Kyrgyz language.
 

The event went on with a  performance accompanied by the kobyz and ended with a group photograph taken as a remembrance of the day. The main aim of the  Seminar Programme on Kyrgyzstan Studies is to bring together young scholars studying to obtain their Master's Degree or PhD with a view to  promoting  exchange in the field of academic knowledge while also creating a platform for intellectual debate.
