Conference on the book entitled “Turkmenistan, The Heart of the Great Silkroad” by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov
A conference on the book by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was held in the Gazi University.
The conference held in cooperation of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ankara, with the International Organization of Turkic Culture took place in the Rectorate of the Gazi University on November 23rd, 2017 and gathered the Senior Counselor of the President of the Reublic of Turkey Yalçın Topçu, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ankara H. E. Isankuli Amanlyev, TURKSOY Secretary General Prof. Dusen Kasseinov, the Head of the Friendship Group of the Parliaments of Turkey and Turkmenistan, MP of the AKP from Ordu Metin Gundogdu, the Rector of the Gazi University Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Uslan, the Head of the Friendship of Turkey and Turkmenistan Huseyin Yucel and the former Director from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Turkey Yahya Aksoy.
In the speech he delivered at the conference which gathered a large number of students, Ambassador Amanlyev said that the President of Turkmenistan has written an extremely comprehensive book on the history, culture, art, social and economic structure as well as on the past, present and future of the country. Ambassador Amanlyev further said: "This new book by the President of Turkmenistan is an extremely reliable source of reference recounting the history of the Turkmen people, their own national characteristics, traditions and customs. It also gives a clear insight into the precious contribution of the Turkmen people to science, economy and culture."
Secretary General Kasseinov who also delivered a speech at the conference, said that H. E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov
contributes to the further enrichment of the Turkic World in terms of culture
with the books he writes. Mr. Kasseinov who also reminded of the fact that
TURKSOY has published Berdimuhamedov’s book entitled “Music of Peace, Music of
Friendship and Brotherhood” in Turkish language stressed that this work is an
excellent reference in academic terms when it comes to understanding the peaceful
governance of Turkmenistan and its
policy based on permanent neutrality.
Mr. Kasseinov concluded his speech saying “Today, we are going to introduce a book to you which is entitled “Turkmenistan, The Heart of the Great Silkroad” and will be a further enrichment for the written memory of Turkmenistan. Indeed, this book recounts the history of Turkmenistan and gives an insight into its cultural and national values with a literary style, and I believe that it will be a precious guide in terms of our understanding of history.”
Mr. Yalcın Topcu who said that the President of Turkmenistan has written an excellent book added: "This book is a very comprehensive work on Turkmenistan and the Silkroad, a region where we brought security, welfare, justice and freedom and a region which is of capital importance for humanity in both economic and cultural terms." Mr. Topcu who stressed that Turkmenistan is a country of key strategic importance for its region as well as for the world further said: "Turkmenistan does not only have a central position in the region of the world where it is located. It is also an extremely important strategic center for the world in general. As a matter of fact, apart from its wide territory, Turkmenistan is the natural gas provider of Europe, and it is also a transit country for the natural gas which is conveyed from the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf. All this makes Turkmenistan a country of key importance in strategic terms."
The Head of the Friendship Group of the Parliaments of Turkey and Turkmenistan and MP of the AKP from Ordu Gundogdu said that Turkmenistan and Turkey act as two countries of one single nation and added: "In his book “Turkmenistan; The Heart of the Great Silkroad”, the President of Turkmenistan Mr. Berdimuhamedov points at the importance of Turkmenistan as a country located in the very heart of the Silkroad and supports this statement with historical facts."
The conference was
followed by a short concert featuring Rovshan Nepesov, a famous composer
from Turkmenistan who had also
participated in the Composers’ Gathering of
TURKSOY. Within the framework of the event, participants were offered
Turkmen rice, a typical culinary specialty of Turkmenistan.
