A play by M. F. Ahundzade performed in Kazakhstan
"Monsieur Jordan and Dervish Mesteli Shah", the famous comedy by the great dramaturgist of the Turkic World, founder of the national theater of Azerbaijan, philosopher, author and teacher Mirza Fatali Ahundzade was performed at the N. Bekejanov State Musical - Drama Theater of Kyzylorda in Kazakhstan on February 8th, 2017.
The Premiere performance which took place with the support of TURKSOY took place in the presence of the Governor of Kyzylorda Kyrymbek Kosherbayev, the Deputy Governor Ruslan Rustemov, the Director of the Administration of Culture, Archives and Documentation of Kyzylorda Erjan Abdrahmanov and the Director General of the Sheki State Drama Theater Mirbala Selimli, an artist who strongly contributed to the development of art and culture in Azerbaijan.
The Director of the performance was Murat Ahmanov who is knwon for his strong contribution to Kazak art and culture. The performance of the play was faithful to style of Ahundzade's dramaturgy. The setting of the performance was made by Serik Pirmahan, a painter who is also known for his strong contribution to the culture and art of Kazakhstan. Pirmahan successfully used patterns of Karabakh carpets to create the same atmosphere as that described in the theater play.
The performance featured Bakıtbek Alpısbay as Hatem-Han Aga, Zalipa Tolepova as Shahrebanu Hanım, Zukra Saypi as Sherefnise Hanım, Kanat Arkabayev as Shahbaz Bey, Bakytbek Temirbekov as Monsieur Jordan, Uğım Baymahanov as Dervish Mesteli Shah and Marjan Abisheva as Gulchohra.
As a result of decisions made by Theater Directors of TURKSOY member countries, the cooperation among our respective countries in the field of theater is growing stronger every day. This year, the Kazak play entitled "You will not go! That's it. You will not go..." will be performed im Azerbajan within the framework of Kazak Culture Days.
