The 18th Opera Days of TURKSOY start with a concert in Istanbul
The Opera Days traditionally held every year by the International organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) will be taking place between September 15th-25th, 2015.
This year's Opera Days of TURKSOY will be held in commemoration of the famous Kyrgyz artist Bolot Mincilkiyev with the contribution of 24 artists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tatarstan (RF), Bashkortostan (RF), the TRNC and the Peoples Republic of China.
The first concert to take place within the framework of the 18th Opera Days of TURKSOY will be held in one of the newest opera venues of Istanbul, namely, the Leyla Gencer Opera and Art Center on September 15th, 2015 at 07.30 pm. At the concert, artists from the Turkic World will be accompanied by the orchestra of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet under Maestro Aytug Ulgen as conductor.
Following the opening event of the 18th Opera Days of TURKSOY in Istanbul, artists of the Turkic World will take the scene in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus where they will give two concerts at the Ballapais Monastery on September 17th-18th, 2015. The last performance to take place within the framework of this years Opera Days of TURKSOY will take place in Antalya.
As a traditional event which has been carried out every year by TURKSOY since 1994, the Opera Days of TURKSOY are a major opportunity for artists from the Turkic World to come together and join their talents to promote Turkic culture and introduce it to art-lovers from various countries of the world. As a matter of fact, TURKSOY has held Opera Days in many different cities and countries of the world until today, thus contributing to the cultural rapprochement of peoples of the entire world through the universal language of music and more particularly, opera in this case.
