Chuvash Culture in Ankara

The event featuring Chuvash music and dances which was realized through the cooperation of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ankara and the municipality of Altındag took place at the Hamamonu Clock Tower and was highly appreciated by the citizens of Ankara.

Participants to the event were the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Ermek Ibrahimov, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov, and the Mayor of the municipality of Altındağ Veysel Tiryaki along with many citizens.

In the speech he made on the occasion, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kaseinov said that they were cooperating with many international organizations in order to present the Turkic culture and make it better known to the world. Kaseinov said that the State Folk Dance and Music Troupe of Chuvashia (RF) first performed in Bursa within the framework of the Karagoz Culture Festival and will be taking the scene in Yalova between July 18th-25th at the Festival of Turkic Peoples. Kaseinov added that through this event, Turkish people will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of those living in Chuvashia (RF).

The Mayor of the municipality of Altındag Veysel Tiryaki said that this place in Altındag (Hamamönü) which was abandoned for the last 40-50 years will be the future center of all cultural and artistic events in Ankara and thanked the State Folk Dance and Music Troupe of Chuvashia (RF) for their beautiful show.

After the speeches the State Folk Dance and Music Troupe of Chuvashia (RF) performed traditional folk dances and music from Chuvashia.
