Azerbaijani Friendship At Yüce Private High Schools
The closing ceremony of the "Week of Azerbaijan” which was celebrated with various events by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and the YUCE Private Highschool on May 23th-27th, 2011 was realized.
The ceremony which started with the inauguration of the sculpture and paintings’ exhibition of the Azerbaijani artist Ass. Prof. Sait Rüstem and the academician of Gazi University Ali Herisci was followed by a performance of Ali Herisci. The ceremony which was pursued in the conference hall after the inauguration of the exhibition was followed by the national anthems of the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Director of the YUCE Highschools Mr.Ali Saraç who made the inaugural speech stressed the importance of the friendship between Azerbaijan and Turkey, and reminded of the Great Leader of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Atatürk who once said "Azerbaycan’s joy is our joy just as its sadness is our sadness.” before thanking everyone for their efforts and contribution.
After the speech the winners of the painting competition entitled "One Nation, Two States” as well as of the German and English Project competitions organized among primary school students received their prizes in a ceremony organized therefore. The prizes of the winners of the paintings’ competition were given to their winners by the Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Kemal Fahir Genç, while the prizes of the winners of the English Project Competition were given by the Permanent Secretary of the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkey Ruslan Abdullayev, and the prizes of the German Project Competition were given to their winners by TURKSOY Deputy Secretary General Fırat Purtaş.
The program also included Folk dances of Azerbaijan along with folk song performances by Abdullah Gurbani, lute player and senior choir conductor, who has been conducting state folk music choirs for 20 years, Ass. Prof. and pianist Hacıbaba Adiloğlu, as well as Sakine Fidan, soloist of the Ministry of Culture, and the young Azerbaijani pianist Tuğrul Adiloğlu who literally enchanted the audience. The choir of the YUCE primary school accompanied by Mr. Abdullah Gurbani sung folk songs of Azerbaijan.
The colourful ceremony which also featured videos on Azerbaijan as well as on the Eurovision song contest ended with the closing speech by TURKSOY’s representative of Azerbaijan Mr. Elçin Gafarlı.
